In order to consolidate the “pampa concordia” agricultural project senator José Durana formed a work table between the local small farmers and ministers of public works, agriculture and national goods, all represented by regional ministerial secretaries in order to increase the concept of “live borders” at the north of the city, in the highway that leeds to the Chile-Peru border
It consists in 500 desertic hectares given to 80 farmers during the first presidential period of Sebastián Piñera now transformed into a blossom valley. “2014 and 2018 where not good years in this project due the lack of public support but the private investment worked.” Senator Durana said that agricultural industry is key in the region and should be supported by state.
The president of the small farmers group Juan Cárdenas said that a biggest hydric resource is needed, also electricity and potable water all this in order to keep developing as a rural community. Cardenas also said that it was great that public and private investors worked together.
