We are a group of small farmers in pampa Concordia that is located in the region of Arica and Parinacota being the first agricultural desert border project.
The group is dedicated to the farming and commercialization of fruits and vegetables produced with renewable energy and the best hydric resource of the area. We sow and reap in one of the driest deserts in the world, which allow us to get crops all over the year and reach the market of the region and the country.

At only six kilometers from the Chilean- Peru border “pampa Concordia” is one of the most newest and remarkable projects in the city of Arica and the first farming facility in the north of Chile. It is a valley of 1.050 hectares put to tender five years ago by the ministry of national assets. A place used for military fortifications in the late 70´s now leased to farmers and enterprises for a period of 25 years; the idea is to develop a new valley in the region.
Some of the people involved in this project are the small farmers group (APAAP), 80 small vegetable producers in charge of 350 hectares divided in 320 to production and 30 hectares used as roads (4 hectare for one person) all divided in equal parts. To obtain the land the group created a common project of investments for an amount of $2.900 million CLP for a period of four years that postponed to six. Nowadays they are complying with the construction of greenhouses, new management technologies and productive area that adds 160 hectare these days.
